Last Sunday, one of our good friends stopped by to help create plans to turn our potting shed into a chicken coop. We plan on leaving a small corner inside with shelves and hooks to continue storing our gardening tools, etc. My husband and I have a lists of things to do before we get started on the coop, which should be in mid-May. We need to clean out the shed, buy building materials, and take out the existing shelving inside. Our realtor, suggested we call our township to confirm that we are allowed to have chickens in our zoning, so that is my first priority for Monday morning!
Last week we stopped by Tractor Supply Co. and found some chicken nesting boxes we plan to get for inside the coop. While we were there, we browsed all of the chicken supplies they had – waterers, feeders, food, pine chips for the flooring, egg baskets, and tons of magazines and books. I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of this store over the next few months!
